While Away a Sunny Summer Day at Lake Fairfax Park

Now that the summer sunshine is here to stay for a few months, Lake Fairfax Park should become your new go-to spot. The 18-acre park boasts a bevy of outdoor activities, from water sports to antique carousel rides. So whether you feel more inclined to stay on land or hit the waves, you’ll find something fun to do outdoors at Lake Fairfax Park.

If you want to explore the lake itself, you have a few options. Rent a kayak or pedal boat—personal flotation devices are provided—and go exploring with a friend. If you want a guided tour of the local floral and fauna, go for a spin on the tour boat with a guide offering informative tidbits. For land-dwellers, the antique carousel is open daily until 6:30 p.m. Buy tickets online or snag them when you come. You can also go fishing (a fishing license is required) or just enjoy a walk in the sunshine at Lake Fairfax Park. Note that fishing is only permitted from land, not from watercraft.
